Joshua Pacio came up with a dominant performance Saturday night by submitting countryman Rene Catalan in the second round of the main event of ONE: Masters of Fate at Mall of Asia Arena.

Thus "the Passion" was able to defend the ONE strawweight title he reclaimed from Japan's Yosuke Saruta last April.

After surviving an early submission scare from Catalan, Pacio stuffed a takedown from Catalan and worked his way into mount.

He then securing a masterful arm-triangle choke, leaving the challenger with no choice but to tap out 2:29 in the second round.
With the victory, Pacio capped a successful night for Team Lakay.

In the co-main event, Eduard Folayang won his first victory in 3 bouts in surreal fashion.

The former lightweight champion walked away with a technical unanimous decision following an accidental clash of heads with Amarsanaa Tsogookhuu of Mongolia.

After a good first round in which he peppered the Mongolian fight with several leg kicks, Folayang decided to mix it up with Amarsanaa in the second round.

But a charging Amarsanaa accidentally butted heads with the Filipino, opening a large cut in the left cheek bone.

This prompted officials to stop the bout and go to the scorecards, resulting in Folayang's win.

It was his first victory after absorbing successive losses from Shinya Aoki and Eddie Alvarez.

Meanwhile, Geje Eustaquio proved himself as the "King of Rematch Fights" by avenging his defeat against the lanky Toni Tauru.

Unlike their previous meeting in which Tauru submitted him via rear naked choke, Eustaquio was able to squirm out of the Finnish fighter's clutches in the first round.

He then put up a master clinic in striking, landing a vast array of strikes on Tauru and even dropped the Finn with a leg sweep.

In the third round, he unleashed a liver shot via spinning back kick that folded down Tauru. The referee immediately stepped in and awarded the victory to the former flyweight champion.
