The Philippine national women’s football team gave host team Thailand a good fight before falling short in the AFF Women’s Championship 2019 in Chonburi on Wednesday.
The Thais had it 4-2 against the Malditas, who tasted their first defeat after rolling past Malaysia and Timor Leste.
It was Quinley Quesada who scored a brace for the Philippine side in the 11th and 66th minutes, before Thailand eventually took over.
Despite the loss, the Malditas still have a chance to reach the semifinals if they beat Singapore on Friday.
