Victory was sweet for June Mar Fajardo, who won his 8th PBA title after San Miguel Beer beat TNT 102-90 to bag the 2019 Commissioner's Cup title on Friday.

The Cebuano big man finished the title-clinching game with 19 points and 13 rebounds, helping the Beermen secure their 27th league championship.

“Thankful kami nakuha namin ito, hindi madali ang pinagdaanan namin. Sobrang nag-struggle kami sa start pa lang ng conference na to,” the reigning MVP said.

Following their all-Filipino title win, the Beermen went through a slump, winning only 2 of their first 7 games at the onset of the Commissioner’s Cup.

They later let go of Charles Rhodes and later replaced him with Chris McCullough, who helped the Beermen finish the eliminations at seventh place.

They then beat NorthPort and Rain Or Shine in successive series, before downing TNT in 6 games even without Marcio Lassiter, who missed the title series because of a knee injury.

“Andaming nagbago, buti’t na-overcome namin yung struggle na 'yun,” said Fajardo.
