MANILA, Philippines – F2 Logistics and Petron will try to keep their winning run going when they take on different opponents in the 2019 Philippine Superliga (PSL) All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.
The Blaze Spikers battle Sta. Lucia at 4:15 p.m., while the Cargo Movers collide with the woeful Marinerang Pilipina at 7 p.m.
The Cargo Movers have yet to lose a game since adding Fil-Am spiker Kalei Mau to their line-up. They have racked up 10 consecutive wins in the conference.
However, they showed signs of vulnerability in their previous game against Generika-Ayala. F2 Logistics flirted with disaster before eking out a 25-19, 25-27, 25-22, 18-25, 15-13 over the weekend at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Mau spearheaded F2 Logistics' attack, while Majoy Baron and Dawn Macandili shored up the defense. Still, the Cargo Movers had a tough time putting down the gritty Lifesavers, who lost skipper Angeli Araneta in to injury in the crucial stretch of the deciding set.
"Our game against Generika-Ayala should serve as a big lesson for the team," said F2 Logistics coach Ramil de Jesus.
"You just can't go to the venue and play the game. You also have to be prepared and respect your opponent," he added.
F2 Logistics will try to secure its 11th win against Marinerang Pilipina, who will be without injured spiker Chiara Permentilla.
The crew of Ivy Remulla, Caitlyn Viray, Rhea Ramirez, Dimdim Pacres, Cesca Racraquin and Judith Abil will try to keep in step with the Cargo Movers as they eye their first win in the tournament.
"I told the team to just keep on working," said Marinerang Pilipina coach Ronald Dulay. "After all, good things happen to those who do their best to win."
