PSL: Petron breezes past PLDT to stay in 2nd place

MANILA, Philippines – Defending champion Petron made quick work of PLDT Home Fibr, 25-19, 25-15, 25-9, to tighten its grip on second place in the 2019 Philippine Superliga (PSL) All-Filipino Conference, Thursday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Sisi Rondina started for the Blaze Spikers and promptly scored 12 points, while shoring up their defense with 20 digs.

Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, meanwhile, contributed 10 points as Petron cruised to its seventh consecutive win in the conference.

Middle blockers Mika Reyes and Remy Palma chipped in nine points apiece, while Ces Molina added eight markers and had 12 digs. 

Rhea Dimaculangan paced the team with 18 excellent sets as Petron hiked its record to 9-1.

The Power Hitters managed just 25 kills in the game, while Petron's offense got untracked as they registered 47 hits.

Aiko Urdas had eight points, while setter Jasmine Nabor added six markers for the Power Hitters, who dropped to 3-7 card.
