MANILA -- Self-driving vehicles will shuttle athletes around the New Clark City during the 30th Southeast Asian Games in November, the operator of the Central Luzon smart city said Tuesday.

Three self-driving shuttles would be tested in 3 months, the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) said.

The Coast P-1 shuttles were made by US-based mobility company COAST Autonomous, and could fit up to 20 people, BCDA said.

The low-speed vehicles will take athletes to and from the Athletes’ Village, Athletics Stadium at Aquatics Center where about half of the 543 games would be held.

Fans who would watch the games could also ride the electric shuttles, the BCDA said.
