MANILA -- Malacañang wished Senator Manny Pacquiao "best of luck in the world" in his welterweight bout against Keith Thurman on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

"He is fighting someone—I have seen some of the fights of Thurman, mukhang magaling din eh; bata pa, magaling… Pero iyong ating boxer eh magaling din eh," Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo said.

Thurman has vowed to go for the knockout against Pacquiao, and expressed his intent to retire the Filipino boxing icon.

This weekend's bout will be Pacquiao's 71st professional boxing match, and his second bout this year after outpointing Adrien Broner back in January.

Thurman, meanwhile, is coming off a decision win over Josesito Lopez in January, in what was his first fight in nearly 2 years.
