San Miguel Beer proved just too much for Phoenix Pulse Wednesday, zooming past the Fuel Masters en route to a 128-108 victory and claiming the seventh spot in the standings of the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

The Beermen leaned on the double-double efforts of reinforcement Chris McCullough and June Mar Fajardo to strengthen their bid to make it to the quarterfinals round of the midseason tourney.

McCullough scored 21 of his 37 points in the first half to go with his 13 rebounds and 4 assists, while Fajardo added 22 points, 14 boards and 2 blocks.

Alex Cabagnot and Terrence Romeo added 16 and 13 points, respectively.

It was San Miguel's first back-to-back wins in the tournament. The Beermen climbed to seventh with a 4-5 card, while the Fuel Masters dropped to joint eighth with Alaska with 4-6.

"Naghahabol kami, kaya lahat ng laro importante sa amin," said Fajardo after the win.
