For Barangay Ginebra head coach Tim Cone, there's something in the way Justin Brownlee plays that's similar to one 7-time Best Import awardee.
"Justin reminds me of Bobby Parks a bit," said Cone in "Coaches Unfiltered" podcast.
What's most impressive about Brownlee, Cone added, is the way he solves whatever type of defense thrown at him..
"You can do whatever you want defensively, and by this time in his career, he has seen so many different defenses that you can't surprise him anymore," said Cone.
"You might get him in one game and he'll look at it and go, 'OK you got me. OK try that again.' You try that gain, He'll destroy you."
Parks, best known for his playing years with Shell, was a 4-time PBA champion.
To commemorate Parks' legacy, the PBA renamed the prestigious Best Import Award after him.
Brownlee, on the other hand, is already a 4-time PBA champion and was adjudged Best Import in the 2018 Commissioner's Cup.
Cone said Brownlee's ability to adjust makes him special.
"That's the one thing on Justin. You can't bring in the same defense every game in or every game out. You can't defend him with the same guy every game, every time out," he said.
"Just the idea of understanding what he needs to do to be successful. He just evolves his game and he's forced to evolve it because of Alaska's defense, San Miguel's defense, whatever. He's constantly evolving."
