MANILA, Philippines -- Cignal-Ateneo will try to inch closer to the 2019 PBA D-League crown when it battles Centro Escolar University (CEU) in Game 2 of the finals on Tuesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The Blue Eagles comfortably defeated the Scorpions, 101-66, in the opener of the best-of-five series last Thursday. It was the most lopsided finals game in the history of the developmental ranks.
Isaac Go led the way for Cignal-Ateneo, making four of his six attempts from beyond the arc to finish with 17 points. As a team, the Blue Eagles made 16 of their 38 attempts from the three-point area.
As dominant as their triumph was, however, the Blue Eagles know better than to be overconfident.
"We could not take them for granted because they're in the finals for a reason. We just wanted to make sure that we don't get complacent," said deputy coach Sandy Arespacochaga.
Go, along with Thirdy Ravena and Ange Kouame, will again lead the Blue Eagles' charge.
CEU, meanwhile, looks to get over its jitters against its more fancied foe as it tries to avoid a 0-2 hole in the series.
"We just have to believe that we can compete with them. We have to show that heart and fight on Game 2," he said.
Maodo Malick Diouf will be the shining light for the Scorpions, as he'll be joined by Rich Guinitaran and Dave Bernabe in shooting for the upset.
Game time is at 4 p.m.
