PBA: Magnolia notches 1st win, as NLEX winless skid continues

James Farr finished with a double-double and Mark Barroca made a key basket in the final minute as Magnolia downed NLEX 98-88 in the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup on Friday.

Barroca hit a jumper with 57 seconds remaining to give Magnolia a 95-88 lead, then new NLEX member Jericho Cruz missed a layup in the next possession, extinguishing the Road Warriors' hopes.

Farr finished with 24 points and 21 rebounds, while Ian Sangalang added 21 points for the Hotshots, who won for the first time in the tournament after going 0-2.

NLEX fell to 0-6.

Tony Mitchell led the losing side with 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Kenneth Ighalo chipped in 14 points.
