PBA: CJ Perez’s 39-point output powers Columbian past NLEX

CJ Perez and Kyle Barone tag-teamed the lights out of winless NLEX, as Columbian Dyip came away with a 120-105 victory in the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup on Saturday.

Perez, the Dyip's prized rookie, scored a career-high 39 points to go with 9 rebounds and 3 assists, while Barone, in his last game for the team, added 31 markers.

Barone is reportedly set to be replaced.

Jackson Corpuz and Rashawn McCarthy finished with 18 and 12 points, respectively, for the Dyip who won their first game after an 0-3 start.

Columbian took advantage of the error-prone Road Warriors, scoring 28 points off NLEX's 23 turnovers.

Adding to that were the Dyip's 18 steals the hastened NLEX’s downfall.

Toni Mitchell led the way with 32 points for the Road Warriors (0-4).

NLEX 105 - Mitchell 32, Paniamogan 18, Tiongson 12, Soyud 12, Monfort 9, Baguio 8, Rios 4, Erram 4, Ighalo 3, Galanza 3, Paredes 0, Taulava 0, Magat 0, Lao 0.

Quarterscores: 24-22, 53-39, 93-67, 120-105.
