Anjo Caram dished out a superb game off the bench to key Meralco's 91-84 win over Rain Or Shine in the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup at Mall of Asia Arena on Friday.
The former San Beda standout scored 17 points to go with his 3 rebounds and 6 assists to help Meralco even its record to 2-2.
The Bolts trailed the Elasto Painters in the first half, 52-46, but Meralco unreeled a 14-0 run to turn things around in the third quarter.
Gani Lawal topscored for Meralco with 19 points. Chris Newsome added 16, while Ranidel De Ocampo had 12.
With the victory, Meralco ruined Denzel Bowles' 31-point performance for the Elasto Painters.
"I told my local players they did a great job tonight. Anjo Caram did a great job for us tonight, Ranidel de Ocampo gave us a lift, Chris Newsome (was) a valuable force for us tonight," said Meralco coach Norman Black.
"It's almost a must-win situation for us because a lot of teams haven't been playing yet. We need to win many games as much as possible."
