MANILA, Philippines -- TNT active consultant Mark Dickel is looking forward to seeing how Poy Erram can help the KaTropa when the PBA resumes its activities.

The KaTropa officially acquired Erram from the NLEX Road Warriors in late February, but they have yet to play a game with the center as the league put a halt to all action on March 11 due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Speaking in an online coaching seminar, Dickel said he had been excited to see how their team would come together for the All-Filipino Cup.

"I feel like we've got a really good team. I feel like we're building for this conference coming up," Dickel said.

Under Dickel's watch, the KaTropa made it to the finals of the Commissioner's Cup last season, and the semifinals of the Governors' Cup.

They had been hoping that Erram would be a key piece to their championship puzzle, as the KaTropa have not won a championship since the 2015 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

"Obviously, with the addition of Poy Erram, that kind of puts us in a position now with him and Kelly Williams, we've got two really good frontline guys that I feel like can really anchor our defense and be unselfish on offense," said Dickel.

"I'm super excited for this coming conference, whenever it comes," he added. "And if it doesn't come, whenever this next conference comes, I'm sure we'll be ready."

Dickel and the TNT coaching staff have been keeping in touch with the KaTropa during the enhanced community quarantine, and ensuring that they are doing their workouts. However, he acknowledged that at the moment, there are "bigger issues than basketball."

"What we're gonna be relying on is science, and hoping that they work out a way in order to make it so that we can play again," said Dickel. "In the meantime, I'm sure every coach and every player is doing everything that they can do to try and get ready, and put the best product on the floor whenever the games come back."

It remains to be seen when the PBA will resume games. Commissioner Willie Marcial and the Board of Governors have said that they will make a decision about the fate of the season in August.
