MANILA -- For Barangay Ginebra coach Tim Cone, it's not just the actual games that he misses these days but the daily grind of team practices.

Cone said going to practices was an integral part of his daily routine and it was the first thing that was halted when the government enforced the enhanced community quarantine on Luzon.

"The thing I missed the most is practice. I miss being in practice. I miss seeing the guys and being around and planning for practice," Cone told the PBA website. "It's a real addiction to basketball. And that's what I missed most of all."

Despite the expected downgrade to general community quarantine, there is still no guarantee the PBA season will resume since sports-related mass gathering remain prohibited under such conditions.

Cone said this is understandable.

"We all know basketball is one of the hardest to start because it's so much interaction with the players," he said.

Cone said they have no choice but to make sure his players exert effort to stay fit even while at home. Barangay Ginebra's team of strength and conditioning coaches send the players programs to follow from time to time.

"We're trying to do things that they can do at home, under the guidelines of our trainors, sending programs to the players so that they can find ways to work out," he said.

Cone, for his part, is spending time with his son at home by doing backyard shooting.

"I get to coach my son every day. We go spend half an hour every day with a little basketball court, a really small one with a court so that he can shoot," he said.
