PBA: Magnolia cripples NLEX to face Ginebra in quarterfinals

MANILA -- Magnolia got a firm hold on the sixth seed in the PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals by handing NLEX a 102-74 beating on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum. 

Paul Lee led the way for the Hotshots with 26 points and 5 rebounds as Magnolia led in all 4 quarters over the Road Warriors.

The combo guard scored 8 points when they orchestrated a searing 14-0 run that put NLEX in serious trouble.

Mark Barroca turned up the heat in the third period, scoring all 14 of his points there and giving the Hotshots a 77-54 advantage.

Aldrech Ramos added 15 points while Ian Sangalang had 10 points and 6 boards for Magnolia.

With the win, Magnolia has set itself for a “Manila Clasico” best-of-3 quarterfinal pairing with Barangay Ginebra.

Bong Galanza led the Road Warriors with 10 points.
