eSports: Philippines places 5th in Legion of Champions III tournament

Team ArkAngel of the Philippines settled for fifth place after battling some of the best eSports teams in the world in the recently concluded Legion of Champions III 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The annual eSports tournament, won by Team Awe Star of Korea and organized by Lenovo and Intel, pulled in an impressive turnout, the crowd witnessing the intense competition that unfolded over 3 days. 

With the victory, Team Awe Star pocketed $7,000 and $5,000 worth of Legion Y530 notebooks. 

Team ArkAngel went home with a $900 cash prize. 

“I’m proud to share that this is the third consecutive year that we have provided an excellent platform for the next generation of gamers to gather, compete and network with each other. It is also a chance for us to engage them and ensure that the Legion brand is evolving with their needs”, said Ken Wong, president of the PCs and smart devices division of Lenovo Asia Pacific.
