Barangay Ginebra's LA Tenorio already has 5 PBA titles, but there's a reason why he wants to win the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup badly.
"Lahat ng championship ko with imports," Tenorio said in a story posted on the ABS-CBN Sports website.
In his 13 years as a pro, Tenorio has won 4 titles with Justin Brownlee-backed Ginebra and 1 with Diamon Simpson-led Alaska.
But Tenorio said being an all-Filipino champion is different.
"Alam naman natin ’yun, but it's not easy. Kung mahirap itong pinagdaanan namin sa Governors' Cup, siguro mas triple pagdadaanan namin to get that championship," he said.
"Kung mana-naturalize lang namin si Justin (and get him to play as a local), nakuha na namin ang All-Filipino. Ganoon ko kagusto makuha ang all-Filipino."
Tenorio said that with their performance as of late, they have a good shot at winning the league's crown jewel.
"I think with the way we played as a team, especially on defense, (we'll have a chance). I hope madala namin ito sa all-Filipino," he said.
