San Miguel Alab Pilipinas suffered a 72-71 loss to Westports Malaysia Dragons in the ASEAN Basketball League in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday night.

Traveling to MABA Stadium, Alab collapsed in the fourth quarter when the Dragons came up with one final push in the dying seconds of the game.

It was Alab's first defeat in 6 games.

Renaldo Balkman led Alab with 31 points, while PJ Ramos tallied 16.

The homegrown players were not as productive after their superb game against Zhuhai Wolf Warriors last Sunday, though. Caelen Tiongson scored 6 points, while Ray Parks Jr. and Lawrence Domingo had 5 each.

Alab gave up a 9-point lead, fell behind 70-67, then went ahead again 71-70 with 44 seconds left in the game, thanks to consecutive baskets by Balkman and Ramos.

But the Dragons scored one more basket to seal their third win in 6 games.
