MANILA - Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. on Saturday took to Twitter to announce that some Filipinos who were detained in Siem Reap in Cambodia over employment woes are on their way home.
“It’s what we do best: bring ‘em back,” Locsin tweeted.
On Thursday, Locsin tweeted that he was working on "some misunderstanding that requires call on friendships in government."
He tweeted that the “Filipinos who went there for a job were arrested because the job agency had lost its license.”
"I want them free and back home. ATN is on it but I want it diplomatic level. ASPAC (DFA-Office of Asian and Pacific Affairs) has been ordered to make it so. I want my people back pronto," he said.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has not provided additional details as of press time.
