The recently concluded US elections that saw President Donald Trump's party losing its lock on Congress could be a "repudiation" of his policies against Muslims and immigrants, an expert said Thursday.

Republicans lost control of the House of Representatives to Democrats in Tuesday's congressional elections, which saw the triumph of a record number of female candidates, 2 Native Americans, 2 Muslims, and several scientists.
The 115th US Congress will be "a lot younger and a lot browner," observed international politics and American government expert Dr. Benjamin Muego.
"The Trump administration, I'm sure will not acknowledge it, but almost everyone is suggesting that it is, to a large extender, mediation of the very, very almost anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim, people of color [policies]," he told ANC.

"If that is in fact is the immigration policy or approach of the Trump administration and we see the outcome that we are looking at now, I think one can draw the conclusion... that this was in fact some kind of a repudiation of the Trump policies," he added.
