MANILA — Nineteen Filipinos were injured in a road accident involving a public utility vehicle in Italy, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Tuesday.
The Philippine Embassy has interviewed 9 of the Filipinos, who said they received immediate medical attention for muscle trauma, in the Oct. 16 accident in Via Cassia, north of Rome, the DFA said.
Three of them also sustained wounds on the forehead while 2 sustained fractures on the shoulder and leg, the agency added.
The Embassy will coordinate with Italian authorities who have yet to identify the cause of the accident, said the DFA.
"Latest updates will be provided, once they become available. The Embassy stands ready to provide the necessary assistance to the Filipinos," it added.
