MANILA - Filipinos holding electronic Philippine passports and electronic boarding passes can now use the Bureau of Immigration's electronic gates at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 arrival area.
Red Marinas, bureau deputy commissioner, said the electronic gates, were launched more than 2 months ago and have passed international standards for border control of arriving Filipinos.
Marinas said they expect to shorten the long immigration queue at the immigration arrival area, especially this upcoming holiday season that will have an influx of balikbayans.
The 5 electronic gates can process passengers in less than 20 seconds.
