A Filipina-Canadian has been convicted of scamming clients out of hundreds of thousands of dollars while posing as a celebrity talent booker in Nevada.

Prosecutors said 44-year old Filipino-Canadian Marlene Fitzgerald scammed her clients out of more than $230,000 with false promises that she would book A-list performers and celebrities for their events abroad.

In courts record obtained by Balitang America, one of Fitzgerald's victims from overseas said that he gave her $60,000 as down payment.

He was promised that she would bring Canadian popstar Justin Bieber and American boxer Floyd Mayweather to his event but it never materialized.

Fitzgerald's sentencing is set in October.
