A Filipino man was arrested in Minnesota in the US after two girls were burned by a fire he allegedly started in a Walmart parking lot.

The man was identified as Robert Lino Hipolito of Long Beach, California.

Police said he was camping in his van with his wife in the parking lot in Fridley town when the incident happened.

Surveillance video caught Hipolito cooking on a stove then putting it inside his van before going inside the store.

His van caught fire and it spread towards an adjacent van, where two girls were reportedly alone as their mother shopped also at the said store.
