MANILA — An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) fell to her death in Morocco while attempting to escape an apartment building following an argument with her employer, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Monday.
The employer was taken into custody by local authorities pending the outcome of an investigation, Philippine Embassy in Tripoli Chargé d’Affaires Elmer Cato said in a statement.
The victim reportedly succumbed to injuries she sustained after falling from the third floor of an apartment building in Casablanca on Saturday.
The victim had an argument with her employer and tried to escape using pieces of garment she tied together, Cato said.
Cato added that a consular team has been sent to Casablanca to coordinate with authorities and for the repatriation of the OFW's remains.
