MANILA--The Department of Foreign Affairs on Saturday said 21 more Filipinos overseas were diagnosed with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
This raises the total number of Filipinos infected abroad to 651.
The DFA confirmed 16 new recoveries, bringing the tally of Filipinos recovered or discharged from hospital overseas to 188.
The department also logged 5 more deaths, bringing the total number of Filipino fatalities abroad to 84.
According to the DFA, 40 countries or regions worldwide have recorded Filipinos infected with COVID-19.
The Asia-Pacific region has the most number of Filipino coronavirus patients at 226, followed by Europe with 220 cases.
The Americas also have 125 Filipino COVID-19 patients while the Middle East has 80.
More than 1.5 million people have been infected with the disease as of April 10, according to the World Health Organization.
