Customs seizes liquid marijuana from California

MANILA - The airport's customs bureau has confiscated liquid marijuana at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) in Pasay City.

The parcel, which came from San Diego, California, was declared as pen ink cartridges.

Customs personnel also apprehended a minor who claimed the package 3 days after it arrived at the post office. The young woman was turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

She has been placed in a youth home under the supervision of the Pasay City Government and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Marijuana is classified as dangerous drug under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. 

Importation or exportation of prohibited drugs is also a violation under Republic Act 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act. - report from Raoul Esperas
