Vice President Leni Robredo gave financial assistance on Friday to various fisherfolk associations in Albay affected by Typhoon Tisoy.
Under the vice president’s Angat Buhay program, she hopes that the fishermen can improve their livelihood despite the recent calamity.
A fisherfolk association from Barangay Mapulang Daga, Bacacay, Albay received a P2 million check.
Another check worth P3 million check was given to fishermen in Barangay Agñas, Tabaco City.
This Christmas, Robredo hopes that people should be united and give help to victims of typhoons and earthquakes.
“Tumulong, magkaisa hindi ito panahon na mag away-away tayo. Magkaisa tayo tulungan yung nga nasalanta ng Tisoy at lindol sa Davao. Sana kahit papaano, pasayahin naman natin yung Christmas ng ating mga kababayan. Sana iparamdam natin sa kanila na tayo'y nakikisa,” she said.—Report from Karren Canon, ABS-CBN News
