The Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) is calling on both chambers of Congress to fast track the passage of the death penalty bill, calling it a solution to extra-judicial killings.
"Gusto niyo po ba magkaroon lagi ng summary killings? Gantihan? Rido? Hindi na idadaan sa justice system?" VACC Chair Dante Jimenez said Monday.
Jimenez sees no problem with President Duterte's statement over the weekend that he wants 5-6 executions daily, saying it is not enough.
Jimenez said he wants 20 executions a day.
He also insists on death by hanging in a public place.
"Mura na, makakatipid ka pa sa kuryente at gamot," he said.
House Bill 1, which passed the Committee on Justice sub-committee on Judicial Reform in the House of Representatives last month, presented three options for execution--lethal injection, hanging, and firing squad.
