Former Special Assistant to the President Bong Go, who accompanied Duterte, said that the President also gave P100,000 check as financial assistance to the injured soldiers.

He also gave each of them P10,000 in cash, a pistol and cellphone, Go said.

Go said that the President also interacted with the kids of the soldiers and promised to tour them in Davao and Zamboanga.

“Promise nya mga bata ng sundalo ipasyal sa Davao and sa Manila. Kasi nangungulila sa ama at ina minsan sabay napapalayo,” Go said in a text message.
