MANILA - The Senate on Wednesday approved the Supreme Court’s proposed P40-billion budget without questions.
Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta, who has been representing the judiciary in budget deliberations since 2012, personally appeared before lawmakers before the SC’s budget was approved in less than a minute.
“Ibig sabihin in order ang budget namin so it was easy to approve,” Perata told reporters.
The Chief Justice said this would “probably” be the last time he would personally attend budget hearings.
“I have to attend because I started the deliberations,” he said.
“Maybe next year iba na,” he said.
The Senate also approved the Commission on Audit’s P12.4-billion budget without questions.
