MANILA - Some Cavite bus operators on Friday asked transport officials to set fair regulations governing provincial buses before opening the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX).

In an interview with DZMM, Cavite-Batangas Service Cooperative President and Chairman Rommel Manalo said the Department Order 025 by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) allowed certain bus operators to bypass PITX and proceed to Lawton, Pasay and Baclaran, giving unfair treatment to some, he said.

This is in contrast with the earlier Memorandum Circular 020 released by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), which directed all buses coming from Cavite and Western Batangas to end routes at the PITX.

Under DO of DOTr, bus operators from Dasmarinas, Imus, Bacoor, Novelata, Kawit, Cavite City and Gen. Trias could operate beyond the PITX, while the service of those coming from Alfonso, Amadeo, Mendez, Indang, Naic, Ternate and Maragondon end at PITX, he said.

President Rodrigo Duterte, his cabinet officials and Megawide's MWM Terminals Inc on Monday inaugurated the country's first "landport."
