MANILA - The low pressure area spotted off Masbate City has developed into Tropical Depression Ramil, the state weather bureau said Wednesday morning.
Signal no. 1 was hoisted over Northern Palawan, including the Calamian Group of Islands, Aklan, and Antique, PAGASA said in its 5 a.m. weather advisory.
Ramil is currently packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 70 kph. It is moving west at 20 kph.
Ramil was last spotted at 115 kilometers west of Roxas City in Capiz. Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to occasionally heavy rains within its 200-kilometer diameter.
Residents are advised to be on alert against possible flashfloods and landslides.
Sea travel is risky over the seaboards of Northern Luzon and the eastern seaboard of Central and Southern Luzon.
