MANILA - The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) on Thursday announced it would be extending train service operations of the LRT-1 this holiday season.
Starting October 25 until December 31, the last trip during weekdays from the Baclaran Station is at 10 p.m., while the last train from Roosevelt leaves at 10:15 p.m.
On weekends and holidays, the last train will depart from the Baclaran and Roosevelt stations at 9:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., respectively.
The new schedule extended the LRT-1 weekday operating hours by 30 minutes.
The last train used to depart from the Baclaran and Roosevelt stations at 9:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., respectively, from Mondays to Sundays.
"We are extending the LRT-1 operating hours to accommodate the influx of passengers during the holiday rush. We continue to listen and find ways on how to better serve the needs of our customers," LRMC Chief Operating Officer Enrico Benipayo said in a statement.
There will be no changes in the schedule of the first trip for both northbound and southbound trains, which start at 4:30 a.m. on weekdays and weekends.
Meanwhile, the LRT-1 will be operating from 4:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., both northbound and southbound, on December 24, and from 4:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on December 31.
The LRT-1 will also be open for passengers on December 25 and January 1.
