2 missing as aircraft crashes in Ilocos Sur

ILOCOS SUR (UPDATE) - Two people were reported missing after their aircraft in crashed in Barangay Sabangan, Ilocos Sur Friday, police said.

According to the Ilocos Sur Police Provincial Office, the Cessna aircraft crashed after it got hooked to a zipline cable in Vitalis Resort. The plane reportedly plunged into the sea.

Two students of Leading Edge International Aviation Academy, a man and a woman, were on board the plane.

Authorities are currently conducting retrieval operations.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines said the aircraft departed Vigan at 3:24 p.m. and was supposed to arrive in San Fernando, La Union at 4:24 p.m.
