The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee is set to release today its report on the hearing on the controversy involving policemen who recycle illegal drugs, or the so-called “ninja cops.” Here are the big stories making the headlines on ANC today:

Report on “ninja cops”
Hopefully, there will be more answers than questions on the "ninja cops" issue once Sen. Dick Gordon releases the report of recent hearings. The report could rock the Philippine National Police (PNP) to the core and could cast more doubt on the credibility of the government’s war on drugs. Who will take the blame and whose narrative will come out as more believable? Will it be former PNP chief Oscar Albayalde or retired Gen. Benjie Magalong? Also, reports have said President Duterte rebuked leaders of the and expressed disappointment over the “ninja cops” issue.

In the wake of the quake
Five people are dead and around 50 were injured in the quake that hit Mindanao Thursday night. ABS-CBN News will be providing more updates on the quake.

Toys for big boys
Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo and Sen. Bong Go have differing accounts on President Duterte’s accident while riding a motorcycle. Long-time motorcycle rider Duterte either fell while turning on a dirt bike (Go’s version) or fell off after parking a bike (Panelo’s version). The 74-year-old Duterte suffered some “light bruises and slight scratches” but also complained of pain in the hip.

Indian president visits PH
Today is the first day of the visit of Indian President Ram Nath Kovind to the country. He is scheduled to arrive at the Palace at 3:30 p.m. where his scheduled to hold expanded bilateral meetings with various government agencies from health, trade and others. A state banquet will also be held in Kovind’s honor.

New chapter
Once one of the most fiery members of the Senate, Sen. Sonny Trillanes now spends his time grilling students and not corrupt officials. And, as he tells ANCX, it’s a change of pace that he wholeheartedly welcomes.
