MANILA - The two bettors who will split the P1-billion lottery pot respectively placed their bets in Albay and Eastern Samar, the state-run news agency said Monday.

The winning tickets were bought from outlets at Legazpi City, Albay and Borongan, Eastern Samar, PTV, which airs Lotto draws, said in its Facebook page.

It was a lucky first too for the SM Legazpi outlet, which only opened Sunday.

Both tickets had numbers which are self-picked. Lotto has a "lucky pick" option where numbers are randomly selected by a machine.

Bettors with the combination (40-50-37-25-01-45) would split the P1,180,622,508 jackpot prize of the UltraLotto 6/58 drawn last Sunday.

It was the biggest pot in Philippine history, shattering the record previously set in November 2010 when a lone winner bagged the P741 million Grand Lotto 6/55.

Each winner would take home about P472,249,003.20 after splitting the prize money and subjecting it to the 20-percent tax.
