BAGUIO - Slain Philippine Military Academy (PMA) cadet Darwin Dormitorio died due to blunt traumatic injuries to the abdomen, an autopsy report revealed Friday.
Dormitorio, who died in the PMA barracks here in the city last month, was a victim of hazing, police earlier said.
The autopsy report confirmed the allegations, according to Baguio's top police officer.
"Isa po sa evidence natin 'yan na 'yun nga, proving that he was maltreated especially dun sa last day po niya sa PMA. So ito po din yung magsusupport din nung findings natin," Police Col. Allen Rae Co, chief of Baguio City Police, told ABS-CBN News.
He said investigators are confident the autopsy report will support the charges against the suspects, who were the victim's senior cadets.
Last Tuesday, Dormitorio's family formally filed charges against the suspects, including 7 cadets, 3 doctors and 2 PMA tactical officers.
