MANILA - Authorities have rescued 22 teenage girls who are alleged human trafficking victims during a raid at a resort in Dasmariñas, Cavite.
Operatives of the Philippine National Police - Women and Children Protection Center (PNP-WCPC) also arrested a woman who allegedly offered the victims to customers of the resort.
Villamor Tuliao, chief of PNP-WCPC's Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division.
During the raid, operatives found the victims, 18 believed to be minors, in a room allegedly waiting for customers.
Tuliao said the resort in Barangay San Agustin II may face charges for failing to report the illegal activities.
A complaint for violating Republic Act 9208 or Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 will be filed against the suspect.
