MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte will eventually name the two police officials allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade, Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go said Tuesday.
Duterte earlier said two police generals were “still playing with drugs.” He later clarified he was referring to two colonels.
Go, Duterte’s long-time aide, said the president would name the two officials once the investigation of the interior and justice departments is done.
“Papangalanan po ng Pangulo ang dalawang colonel na sinasabing ninja cops. Hintayin po natin ang resulta ng imbestigasyon ng DILG at DOJ. Managot (ang) dapat managot,” said Go.

At the onset of his war on drugs, Duterte named various former and active police officials allegedly involved in the drug trade.
Sen. Richard Gordon, chair of the committees probing the alleged police anomalies, said Duterte could be referring to Col. Eduardo Acierto and Col. Ismael Fajardo, two former police officials tagged in major drug hauls.
Fajardo was accused by a former Customs intelligence officer of having prior knowledge of the P2.4-billion worth of “shabu” found inside magnetic lifters abandoned at the Manila International Port in 2018.
Acierto was also linked to the shipment, as well as the alleged P11-billion worth of “shabu” that slipped past Customs in 2017.
