MANILA—The southwest monsoon or habagat will drench parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, Thursday, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
The habagat continues to prevail over central and southern Luzon, weather specialist Gener Quitlong said.
Metro Manila, Bataan, Bulacan, Rizal, Quezon, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Cavite, Pampanga and Zambales will experience light to moderate rains.
Meanwhile, tropical depression Nimfa was last spotted 758 kilometers east-northeast of Basco, Batanes.
The slow-moving weather disturbance maintained its strength, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 70 kph.
Nimfa is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) Saturday, Quitlong said.
The low-pressure area (LPA) spotted off Tarlac dissipated Wednesday night, he added.
Several areas have canceled classes Thursday due to the inclement weather.
