CAPIZ – A man allegedly beheaded his father on Monday in Barangay Agcagay, Jamindan, Capiz.
The suspect, a 35-year-old man, allegedly cut off the head, hands, and feet of his father using a 29-inch bolo. Afterwards, he allegedly brought his father's head to the barangay proper.
According to Senior Police Officer 4 Edgar Alantuson of the Jamindan police, the victim was having lunch when his son, who was supposed to take him to the doctor after he complained of a frequent headache, approached him carrying a bolo.
"The father went out using the back door, but the suspect ran after him and hacked his father," Alantuson said in Visayan.
The suspect told police that he was deeply sorry for what happened to his father, and said he was upset after his family failed to save the money he sent them when he was still working in Manila.
The suspect, currently detained at the Philippine National Police’s Jamindan station, will be charged with parricide.
