MANILA - The habagat or southwest monsoon will continue to bring rains over parts of Luzon on Friday after typhoon Liwayway and a brewing storm left the Philippine area of responsibility, the state weather bureau said.
Liwayway, the country's 12th storm this year, is still enhancing monsoon rains that may spawn floods or landslides in Ilocos and Cordillera regions, Zambales, Bataan and Batanes provinces, and the Babuyan islands, said PAGASA weather forecaster Meno Mendoza.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience localized thunderstorms, he said.
Liwayway, which brought intermittent over northern Luzon earlier this week, left PAR on Thursday afternoon, said Mendoza. A brewing storm or low pressure area meanwhile weakened early Friday as it moved away from Mindanao, he added.
