MANILA- Authorities retrieved Monday the flight data recorder from the small plane that crashed Sunday in Calamba City, Laguna, that killed at least 9 people.

Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines investigators found the flight recorder, or "black box" in the plane's rubble.

The black box is crucial to explaining what went wrong with the plane, which crashed into a resort.

Police have identified the victims as:

  • - Dr. Garret Garcia, M.D.
  • - Kirk Eoin Badilla (nurse)
  • - Yamato Togawa (nurse)
  • - Ryx Gil Laput
  • - Raymond Bulacja
  • - Tom Carr - patient
  • - Erma Carr - wife of patient

A mother and her son, who are the caretakers of the resort where the plane crashed, were rushed to a hospital in Calamba following the incident. -with a report from Dennis Datu, ABS-CBN News
