MANILA - The Philippine National Police Women and Children Protection Center (PNP-WPC) rescued two young boys from the hands of a Filipino pimp who French police said was the supplier of pornographic materials to foreign pedophiles.
The PNP-WPC arrested 28-year-old suspect Arwin Azur in an entrapment operation after he received the marked money from a poseur buyer in a fastfood chain in Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City on Tuesday.
According to PNP-WPC Anti Trafficking in Persons Division chief Police Col. Maria Sheila Portento, they received the information from the French police that a Filipino supplied online sexual exploitation materials to a 74-year-old pedophile arrested in France.
“Meron silang naarestong pedophile na French national doon sa lugar nila. During the conduct of financial investigation dito sa subject, nakita na maraming transactions na perang pinapadala at natumbok nila dito sa Pilipinas yung recipient,” Portento said.
The Central Unit for the Protection of Minors of the French police said the pedophile sent money to the Philippines 600 times totaling 50,000 euros or P3 million from 2012 to 2019.
Investigation showed that half of the money went to Azur as payment for online pornographic materials featuring minors.
“Further investigation revealed na itong French national, tumatanggap ng mga child sexual exploitation material galing dito sa subject natin who at the same time was receiving money from him,” Portento said.
The French pedophile visited the Philippines on several occasions and was always accompanied by young boys.
Azur admitted knowing the foreign pedophile and said he entertained him whenever he visited the country.
“Lagi po siya nakikipagkita sa amin. Kung saan saan po kami napunta. Bakasyon po sa Mindoro, Baguio. Matanda na po siya, may battery po ang puso niya,” Azur said.
Azur said he was supposed to meet with an American client early Tuesday morning.
“Pupunta daw po sa airport makikipag-meet po sa Amerikano. Bibigyan daw po kami ng pera,” Azur said.
