ABRA - The province of Abra closes its doors for poultry products coming from Pampanga after an outbreak of bird flu was reported in the area.
Governor Jocelyn Bernos said they have quarantine checkpoints to inspect trucks of poultry coming in the public markets.
Bernos released Executive Order No. 013 Series of 2017 or "Temporary and selective ban and regulation of entry to the province of Abra of live domestic and wild birds and their products including poultry meat, day old chicks, eggs, semen and manure."
The entry of poultry products from other provinces must have health certificate issued by a government sector or veterinarian, certifying that the products are free from avian influenza virus.
The executive order will take effect until the Department of Agriculture releases a memorandum that all poultry from Pampanga are clear from the said virus.
