MANILA - Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Nova Parojinog and her brother Reynaldo Parojinog, Jr. on Tuesday underwent inquest proceedings at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

The two were accused of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act after a bloody raid on their homes that resulted in the death of their father, Ozamiz Mayor Reynaldo "Aldong" Parojinog, and 14 others.

Lawyer Ferdinand Topacio, who heads the legal team of the Parojinog siblings, said his clients were denied their right to preliminary investigation.

He added that the case has been submitted to a Department of Justice panel for resolution based only the evidence submitted by the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.

Topacio added that the siblings would like to return to their home province for their father's wake.

The Parojinog siblings earlier underwent booking procedures at Camp Crame.
