MANILA - Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Nova Parojinog and her brother Reynaldo Parojinog Jr have undergone booking procedures at Camp Crame on Tuesday.
The two were accused of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act following a bloody raid on their homes that resulted to the death of their father, Ozamiz Mayor Reynaldo "Aldong" Parojinog and 14 others.
The series of raids in San Roque Lawis, Ozamiz City early Sunday yielded suspected shabu and several firearms and explosives, like M-16 rifles and hand grenades, police said.
Lawyer Ferdinand Topacio who heads the legal team of the Parojinog siblings said Tuesday he will insist on the release of his clients.
He claims that the siblings have been detained for more than 36 hours since the two were arrested at 6 a.m. Sunday.
Topacio added that the arresting officers could be liable under Article 125 of the Revised Penal Code for delay in delivery of detained persons to proper judicial authorities.
