MANILA - An alleged fixer at the Bureau of Immigration was arrested in a mall in Mandaluyong City, Tuesday.

Police took custody of Brigeda Quijano as soon as she received P150,000 from a complainant who asked authorities to conduct an entrapment operation against the suspect, said Police Col. Romeo Caramat Jr., Director of the Philippine National Police Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG).

Quijano allegedly said she could facilitate the release of the complainant's German friend from a detention facility in Bicutan in exchange for P150,000.

The German has been held for 9 months for allegedly remaining in the Philippines even after losing his passport, officials said.
